I am here to assist you in a non-judgmental way. I will help you explore your world with an empathic approach. I am very honest and understanding. I respect and value client confidentiality and adhere to the BACP ethical framework, I have regular clinical supervision to assist me in reflecting upon my client work.
My approach in the school setting is not to project an image of being the expert or superior in my professional position. Therefore, I work with immediacy trusting and allowing the young person to explore their thoughts and feelings whilst I gently reflect their therapeutic process.
My approach is empathic and child friendly. I have a gentle and relaxed way of being. When working with younger children my therapeutic approach may vary and at times involve play and art therapy, this non-verbal technique, meditation/ mindfulness all help the child to express themselves through play.

HOW I WORK
Your first initial meeting will be of 50 minutes duration. It can be arranged on line or by telephone, and the location decided by mutual agreement.
The fee would be £55, however students and these in receipt of benefit would be eligible for a concession and proof would be required.
Taking the decision to find a counsellor could be an important step in your life and finding one with whom you are compatible is imperative. Therefore at our first meeting we will decide whether we could work together and if my approach of person-centred counselling is right for you. You will be under no obligation to proceed, however if you decide to, we will draw up an agreement outlining times, dates and number of sessions, holidays, confidentiality and cancellations.
